Pokémon Lotto-Locke
A high-stakes challenge where your team is decided by fate.
💡 Tip
Welcome to the Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Lotto-Locke
A Nuzlocke variant that brings in some challenge and randomness. In each section of the game, you spin two lottery wheels to give you a mandated and excluded Pokémon. Mandated Pokémon form a core part of your team for the rest of the run; whilst excluded Pokémon can never be caught or obtained.
Lotto-Locke Rules
At the start of each game section, you spin the wheel to randomly generate one Pokémon that is permanently excluded from your run and then spin again to generate another that becomes a mandatory team member.
Your most recent mandatory Pokémon must be used to start the next boss battle (e.g. gym leaders / Elite Four).
After the next gym battle, you repeat the process, adding another excluded Pokémon and mandatory Pokémon.
All mandatory Pokémon must be used in boss battles - if you have more than 6 mandatory Pokémon, you can choose which ones to use.
If a mandatory Pokémon ever faints, you spin the wheel of punishment to add additional challenges to your run.
Oh, and after each gym battle... you also spin the wheel of punishment.
2-Player Variant!
Rather than spinning one wheel for a mandated Pokémon and excluded Pokémon in each section, you spin the wheel three times to create a shortlist for your friend to choose from. They pick one Pokémon to be mandated and another to be excluded. You then return the favour.
Nuzlocke Rules
The game only starts after you get access to Pokéballs.
You can only catch or obtain one Pokémon per route / town / cave / city.
If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed after the battle.
You cannot catch more than one Pokémon from the same species across a run.
Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules
Your Pokémon can't go above the level cap.
Battle Mode should be on 'set' in the options menu.
You cannot use items in Battle from the Item menu.
You cannot use legendary Pokémon in battle.
